November 15th to November 18th

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée (corrections from last week as well as the new dictée) et Pré-dictée le son on et om. We also worked on writing as well as verbe tense endings in verbe avoir et être.

Science: We continued working on forces – push and pull activities.

Social Studies: The students continued to work on their groups of 6 paragraphs about different communities where they are located and what the people do there and they were asked to fill in the information on a sheet I had already prepared for them which they will present to the class. They also prepared for their presentations that they will have to do tomorrow.

Religion: We completed chapter 3 and they had their test.

Math: We continued doing activities with pennies, nickels and dimes and counted by what number was in a pouch plus the coins next to them. We worked on estimating numbers and counting by 10’s.

 

Reminder:

Homework: Reading books that I sent home and completed questions in full sentences and clean printing.

Dictée on Tuesday.

Due Monday – Their interviews with the parent about community jobs.

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée (corrections from last week as well as the new dictée) et Pré-dictée le son ou. We also used a story planner and they chose a story adventure idea they would like to go on and the following day they wrote their story by focusing on the problem/solution, where and when who went with them and what the adventure was. We ended the week by writing in our journals what we did last night.

Science: We began our unit on forces and we looked at what forces are and the push/pull theory.

Social Studies: The students were put into groups of 6 each person was responsible of something, they had a paragraph about different communities where they are located and what the people do there and they were asked to fill in the information on a sheet I had already prepared for them which they will present to the class.

Religion: We talked about Jesus and shared ideas on things we would tell the younger kids about Jesus. We also continued talking about stories in the bible and they each prayed intentions that were important to them.

Math: Counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We began doing activities with pennies, nickels and dimes and counted by what number was in a pouch plus the coins next to them.

 

Reminder:

Homework: Reading books at home (their library book as well.)

Practice math additions and counting from 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

 

Reminders: Friday November 11th and Monday November 14th are pro-d days.

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée (corrections from last week as well as the new dictée) et Pré-dictée le son é,er,ez,ai etc. We also read a story about remembrance day and did an activity where they had to write a sentence that described the book. They continued working on their j’apprend stories where they did many activities followed by the poem “les souliers neufs”.

Science: We continued science review for their test that was given this afternoon.

Social Studies: We talked about communities, rural, suburban and urban. I then had the students continue drawing details of each community on a piece of paper having them describe what they looked like and what the importance of each community was.  We also did an activity on what kids do in rural communities compared to what kids do in an urban place.

Religion: We talked about saints for all saints day and we read stories about a few of them together. They we did a little art activity book about 6 different saints.

Math: Counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We did different activities within the classroom to ensure the students knew how to count by each of them followed by activity sheets for practice. We then followed activities in their textbook.

Homework: The reading books and question page I sent home on Tuesday.

Please continue having your kids read books in order to practice their French language.
