Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée et Pré-dictée le son g doux. They also wrote a story about their own snowman and finalized their piece of writing.

Science: We talked about the salmon and how important water is for them as well as how and where they hatch their eggs. We continued to discuss the importance of water to plants, humans and animals as well. We then went on talking about clouds- why and how it rains what are the causes.

Social Studies: We talked about how to draw a map including titles and NSEW.

Religion: We talked about the Good Sumaritan what are good choices he made and what are choices we can make to follow his example.

Math: We continued working on addition and subtraction then the students had a test on the material we have covered so far in the Unit.

January 16th to January 20th

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée et Pré-dictée a complete revision of the dictée words they have done.  We also worked on a story they have been writing about their own snow man.

Science: We talked about the salmon as well as the importance of Water to humans, plants animals and salmon. They continue to check the water temperature and write it down on a sheet so we can keep track of the water temperature for the salmon.

Social Studies: We talked about the compass and how we find our North, South, East and West. They then worked in partners to create a picture of their class using the compass.

Religion: We worked on the meaning of the 10 commandments and they wrote it out on a sheet. We also discussed the importance of following rules in life.

Math: We worked on addition and subtraction by reading the questions and figuring out whether it will be an addition or subtraction answer.

 

Reminder: I have sent home a sheet for Student Led available times please have your child bring it back with them on Monday if they have not yet brought it.

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée et Pré-dictée les jours de la semaine. We also worked on writing full sentences with commas and periods and the use of the word and. We completed a few exercises in the je lis j’écris book and they finished up their new year’s resolution. We began a new verb as well and the students did a wonderful job with creating sentences with the verbe aller.

Science: We talked about the salmon hatching we also did experiments with static electricity. I began our water unit as well which is tied to social studies as well.

Social Studies: We talked about where water is used around the world and what it is used for. We also talked about different types of transportation that is used around the world.

Religion: We are practicing our prayers in preparation for the reconciliation. We read about Jesus as well as their special name in which we did an art activity with. We also did an art activity with the three wise men.

Math: We worked on addition and subtraction with missing numbers.

Bonjour grade 2F parents, I hope everyone had a wonderful week.

 

This week the students worked on:

French: Dictée et Pré-dictée le son en, an, em, am. We also worked on writing full sentences with commas and periods and the use of the word and. We completed a few exercises in the je lis j’écris book that is tied to the en,an,am et em sound.

Science: We talked about the salmon hatching in which we just received the eggs today and we also did experiments with static electricity.

Social Studies: We continued discussions about buying and trading within communities and how it works for big businesses in different communities around the world.

Religion: We talked about the importance of God the Father and wrote prayers to God things that meant the most to them.

Math: We continued doing activities with nickels dimes and quarters and added money in order to make the amount I had asked them to. They learned about 4 quarters to a dollar as well.
