Parish Education Committee
Our Lady of Fatima Education Committee is a parish organization comprised of elected and appointed members. Its mandate is to assure proper functioning of the school in all respects. The committee numbers seven. Five members are elected and the pastor appoints two. The pastor is an ex officio member of this and all committees while the principal acts in an advisory capacity. Members of the committee fulfill various roles: chairperson, secretary, treasurer, maintenance, personnel, PPC liaison, and so on. This committee, within the guidelines set by the Archdiocese, makes major policy and administrative decisions. The Education Committee works for the benefit of the students, parents, parish, staff, and community. It is responsible to the Catholic Independent School Board of Vancouver Archdiocese.
The Education Committee meets each month and minutes are posted each month in the school lobby. This committee is responsible for the staffing of the school, managing the finances of the school and for setting school policy. Suggestions to the Education Committee may be submitted in writing to the school office and marked Education Committee. All suggestions must be signed.
